In this 2-hour workshop, we will focus on playing finger cymbals and learning folkloric belly dance movements inspired by the great West coast belly dance legend, Jamila Salimpour. Students will also be introduced to American improvisational style of belly dance. This workshop is essential for all belly dancers as it provides instruction on one of the art forms greatest props: finger cymbals! It is also crucial that belly dancers know and understand dance history and the roots of specific stylizations. Students must bring finger cymbals. All levels of dancers welcome. Taught by Kandice Grossman.
