Kandice Grossman has maintained a love for the arts and a passion for dance, movement, and theater all her life. She began studying dance as a girl and has never stopped. Dance training includes ballet, jazz, modern, West African, Flamenco, Tango, Brazilian Samba and more.
She got into theater in her teens and throughout college, starring in classics such as Midsummer Nights Dream, Trojan Women, Wizard of Oz and Death of a Salesman. Kandice’s love of a variety of dance styles and theater is evident in her unique, story-like fusion choreographies today.
Kandice began studying yoga in college to accompany her passion for Eastern philosophy. After practicing for nearly 18 years, Kandice received her 200 hour teacher training at Urban Breath yoga studio in St. Louis, MO.
Kandice began studying Middle Eastern dance, aka belly dance, as a teen and has studied with the nation’s most renowned teachers. Kandice is currently Jamila Level 3 certified and Suhaila level 4 certified with the renowned Suhaila Salimpour School of Dance in Berkeley, CA.
Kandice founded Moon Belly Dance in Columbia, MO in 2002. Moon Belly offers regular weekly classes and workshops to students in the local area and Midwest region. In 2003, Kandice founded MOON Dance Company and is the artistic director. MOON performs locally and regionally at various events.
